Bingkun Yang
Bingkun Yang is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from UF, where his research focused on applied geophysics and subsurface imaging.
Research interests
His work spans seismic, ultrasonic, and ground penetrating radar (GPR) methods, with particular emphasis on forward modeling, full waveform inversion, signal processing, and advanced imaging techniques for subsurface characterization and nondestructive testing. His current research focuses on seismic monitoring and geophysical characterization of coastal dune systems, and he also contributes to research on the Mackenzie Delta involving seismic data analysis, quantitative horizon analysis, uncertainty assessment, and model-data comparison.
